Literal Translation
Standard Word-for-Word Meaning
Just as the wind carries a scent from its source because it is the master of smell, so does the Almighty God take the soul—along with its five senses and the mind—by enveloping it in an immaterial body. He transfers the soul from the old body it abandons to the new body it attains based on its destiny. This systematic mechanism of control is also explicitly mirrored in Gita Chapter 18, Verse 61.
Hidden Mysteries & Secrets
Verse 15.8 reveals the hidden mechanics of transmigration (reincarnation). It explains how a soul moves between bodies and establishes the ultimate authority responsible for enforcing this cosmic relocation system.
I. The Analogy of the Wind and Fragrance
The verse presents a vivid scientific metaphor: "Wind carries the smell because wind is the master of smell".
II. The Almighty God as the Permanent Escort
A major theological point highlighted here is the role of the Almighty God (Purna Parmatma) during death.
III. The Blueprint of Destiny (Karma)
The transition of the subtle body is explicitly stated to happen "based on destiny".
IV. Cross-Reference Verification: Gita Chapter 18, Verse 61
The deep dive draws a direct parallel to Gita 18:61 to solidify this law of cosmic transit.
