Summary of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10

The Secret Speech of Brahm

Gita Chapter 10, Verse 1: The speaker (Brahm) says, "O Mahabaho (Arjuna)! Listen to my nectar-like words, which I shall speak for the benefit of a beloved devotee like you."


Evidence of the Origin of Brahm (Kaal)

Gita Chapter 10, Verse 2: Brahm says, "Neither the gods nor the great sages know my origin (Prabhavam / birth), because they have all originated from me."

Insight: This self-evidently proves that Brahm (Kaal) has an origin, but the deities and sages are unaware of it. Just as children cannot describe the birth of their father (but the grandfather knows), all deities and sages in the twenty-one universes were born from the union of Jyoti Niranjan (Brahm/Kaal) and Prakriti (Durga). Only the Purna Brahm (Supreme God) can reveal the origin of Kaal, as Kaal originated from the Param Akshar Brahm. Direct evidence of this origin is found in Gita Chapter 3, Verses 14–15.

Birth and Death of the Speaker: Gita Chapter 2, Verse 12 and Chapter 4, Verses 5–9 clarify that the giver of the Gita's knowledge also undergoes birth and death. Therefore, he exists in a physical form somewhere; otherwise, since Shri Krishna was standing right in front of Arjuna, he could not claim to be "beginningless and unborn" (Anadi Ajam). It was the invisible Kaal (Brahm) speaking through Shri Krishna, providing the correct information about his own status in the form of the Gita.


Understanding the "Supreme Person" (Purushottam)

Translation of Chapter 10, Verse 3: He among men who is a scholar—meaning a Tattvadarshi Saint—knows me (Brahm) as one who was born long ago (Anadim), who does not take a common human form, and as the Great Lord of the world of Kaal. Such a saint provides correct information regarding the scriptures (Yajurveda, Samaveda, Rigveda) and the nature of all sins. By worshipping the Supreme God, one attains freedom from all sins.

The Real Sustainer: Gita Chapter 15, Verse 17 describes that the indestructible Supreme God is actually someone else, who enters the three worlds to sustain everyone. In Gita Chapter 15, Verse 18, Kaal explains: "I am called Purushottam (Supreme Person) only because within the twenty-one universes, I am superior to the perishable beings in gross bodies and the indestructible soul (Jivatma). Therefore, I am called Purushottam based on Lok Ved (folklore/heard knowledge), but in reality, the indestructible Sustainer is the other Param Akshar Brahm."


The Chain of Creation (Gita 3:14–15)

All living beings are produced from food, food from rain, rain from sacrifice (Yagya), sacrifice from virtuous actions, and actions originated from Brahm. Brahm originated from the Imperishable God. That same Imperishable, All-pervading God is established in sacrifices, is the object of worship in sacrifices, and grants the fruits of sacrifices—meaning He is truly the Adhiyagya.


The Psychological Trap of Kaal

Gita Chapter 10, Verses 4–6: The essence of these verses is that Kaal Brahm says, "I am making all beings under me dance to my tune."

Note: The "Mind" (Man) is a fraction of Kaal. Kaal Brahm has installed "Mind-software" in all living beings to influence them. For this reason, Kaal claims that the power of decision, knowledge, freedom from doubt, forgiveness, truth, control of senses, control of mind, joy, sorrow, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, non-violence, contentment, charity, fame, and infamy—all these various states of beings arise from him.

Example of Deception: Kaal gave Arjuna the power to gain fame in the Mahabharata war, and then later had that fame tarnished by forest-dwelling tribes (Bhils). All such deceptions are orchestrated by Kaal; the Compassionate God does not do this.

The Progenitors: The seven great Rishis (Saptarishi) and the four earlier ones (Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanat, Sanatana), along with the fourteen Manus (Svayambhuva, etc.), were all born from the resolve of Kaal Brahm. All their progeny exists within his realm. Since Kaal Brahm is the creator of the beings in his twenty-one universes, these sages do not know the secret of his own birth.

A fully knowledgeable person worships only the Complete God, not Brahm (Kaal)

The essence of Chapter 10, Verse 7, is that whoever knows my power and yogic practice in essence (Tatv) becomes endowed with unwavering devotion; there is no doubt about this. This means that wise individuals who understand the extent of the power of Kaal (Brahm) according to the scriptures—{which is superior only to the perishable beings in physical bodies and the indestructible souls trapped in the web of Kaal (Brahm); hence he is called Purushottam. In reality, Purushottam is someone else entirely, who is called the Indestructible, All-Pervading God (re-read Chapter 15, Verses 16, 17, and 18)}—only those seekers perform the devotion of the Complete God with an undoubting and steady mind. There is no doubt about this.

Scriptures (Vedas) are originated by Brahm (Kaal) alone

Chapter 10, Verse 8 describes that those who have not found a Tattvadarshi Saint know me with the belief that I am the cause of the origin of all scriptural laws (doctrines). {Because the four Vedas were originated by Brahm (Kaal) himself, and they contain knowledge only up to the chanting of the "Om" mantra and performing sacrifices (yagya), through which only the benefits of Brahm (Kaal) can be obtained.} Therefore, all seekers perform spiritual practice based on the scriptures—meaning the Vedas—and worship me (Brahm-Kaal) with devotion. They consider Kaal alone to be the creator of the entire universe and worship him accordingly.

Worshippers of Brahm (Kaal) remain dependent on him alone

The essence of Chapter 10, Verse 9 is that those who have not found a fully knowledgeable Tattvadarshi Saint remain dependent on the scriptures originated (composed) by me. Such beings are knowledgeable only of these scriptures, have minds absorbed in them, and while engaging in mutual discussions (discussions about God), they remain perpetually satisfied with Brahm and remain absorbed in me (Brahm-Kaal). I alone grant them such an intellect so that they remain trapped in my web.

In Chapter 10, Verse 10, it is stated that I cast the darkness of ignorance into the intellect of those who are engaged in practice (abhyas-yoga) and worship with love, so that they attain only me (Kaal).

In Chapter 10, Verse 11, it is said that to show mercy upon them, I destroy the darkness born of ignorance. The term "Aatma Bhavasth" means that just as a ghost enters someone's body and speaks, making it seem as if the embodied soul is speaking, that ghost stays situated in the "Atma-bhava" (soul-like state) and speaks. Similarly, the Giver of the Gita’s knowledge, Brahm, is saying: "I reside in beings in a soul-like state—meaning I enter their bodies like a ghost to provide knowledge." At the time the Gita's knowledge was given, that same Brahm (Kaal) had entered Shri Krishna's body like a ghost to speak; it appeared as if Shri Krishna was speaking. The evidence for this is in Gita Chapter 7, Verses 24-25.

It is clearly stated in Chapter 10, Verse 11 that for those devotees who worship me by being dependent on me, I enter them (Atmabhavasthah) like a soul and tell them the truth (Satya-gyan): that the real, indestructible, and unborn God is someone else entirely. It is not me. Therefore, perform the devotion of that God; then that devotee is not reborn.

Evidence: Gita Chapter 8, Verses 3, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 22; Chapter 2, Verse 17; Chapter 18, Verses 46, 61, 62; Chapter 15, Verses 1 to 6 and 16 to 18; the entirety of Chapter 13; Chapter 5, Verses 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26; and many other verses in the Gita also instruct to perform the devotion of another God.

When I (Kaal) cause destruction at the end of the age (Kalpa), those who have attained me (Kaal) and are situated in heaven and the great heaven (Mahaswarg) will also be destroyed. When I begin the new age, they will again enter the cycle of birth, death, and the 84-lakh species; meaning they are not fully liberated. For evidence, see Chapter 8, Verse 16 and Chapter 9, Verse 7.

Arjuna’s Query and Kaal’s Manifestations

In Gita Chapter 10, Verses 12 to 18, Arjuna says, "I accept you as the unborn, beginningless, the Supreme Lord of all beings (Purushottam), and the God of all gods." Furthermore, in Verse 14, Arjuna admits, "No one truly knows your human-like physical form (Saakar). Now, please tell me, how should I perform your worship and remembrance?"

The Control Over the Soul

In Gita Chapter 10, Verse 20, Kaal Brahm replies, "I am the soul situated within all living beings. I am the cause of everyone’s birth, death, and whatever joys or sorrows they experience in between." This is because all living souls are under the control of Brahm (Jyoti Niranjan Kaal). Whether it is a bird, an animal, a king, Lord Indra, or even Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and Mother Nature (Prakriti)—Kaal troubles every being in the three worlds through his hidden power.

Kaal as the "Chief" of All Entities

Consequently, in the subsequent Verses 21 to 42, Kaal Brahm states that he is the "chief" or "prime" entity among all classes of beings:

  • Among wild animals, he is the Lion (the predator/annihilator).
  • Among birds, he is Garuda.
  • He further declares, "I am Gambling, and I am Deception."

Insight: This is because it is Kaal (Brahm) who keeps all living beings in a state of delusion, making them dependent on one another and causing them constant distress.

The Infinite Extensions of Kaal and the Great Deception

In Gita Chapter 10, Verses 19 to 42, Kaal Brahm says: "O Arjuna! (Best of the Kurus), I shall now describe to you my infinite extensions."

"I am the soul in all beings who are under me; I am their beginning, middle, and end because they are all dyed in the colors of Kaal (Time). They have no knowledge of the other Supreme God. Among the Adityas, I am Vishnu; among the luminaries, the Sun; among the stars, the Moon. Among the Vedas, I am the Sama Veda; among the Rudras, I am Shankara; among the gods of wealth, I am Kubera. I am Sumeru, the highest mountain; I am Brihaspati, Skanda, and the Ocean. I am the sage Bhrigu; among words, I am the single syllable 'Om' (Omkar). Among trees, I am the Peepal; among the perfected, I am Kapil Muni; among divine sages, I am Narada. Among men, I am the King; among cows, I am Kamdhenu; among serpents, I am Vasuki; and among Nagas, I am Sheshnaag. Among wild beasts, I am the Lion; and among birds, I am Garuda. Among aquatic creatures, I am the Crocodile; and among archers, I am Rama (son of Dasharatha). I am Death, the destroyer of all. Therefore, O Arjuna! I am the seed (the cause of origin and destruction) of all beings. My glories are infinite; I have mentioned only a few. Whatever is excellent, know it to have originated from me. O Arjuna! What use is it for you to know all this in detail? Listen, I support this entire world (the three realms) with but a single fraction of myself—meaning, what more can I say? I (Kaal) am making this whole world dance."

Insight: He made the lion powerful among wild animals so it can harass and terrorize others, eating them whenever it wishes. Similarly, the crocodile terrorizes aquatic life. In this same manner, Kaal is the "Lord" who consumes whomever he wishes. Kaal's kingdom spans 21 universes, and he is the root cause of the suffering of all beings, which he is openly admitting here.

The Critique: Vanity and Deception

The giver of the Gita's knowledge is building his own hollow glory. This is his viewpoint, but the reality is different. In Gita 10:40-42, Kaal says: "I am the master of all; my divine glories have no end; I support the entire world with a mere fraction."

If this were true, then why is it said in Gita 15:4 and 15:17 that after attaining Tattvagyan, one should search for that Param Pad (Supreme Abode) of the Lord, from which seekers never return to the world? Why does it say to worship that God who expanded the "tree of the world" (the Creator)?

Gita 15:17 explicitly states that the Uttam Purush (Supreme Person) is someone else entirely, who is called the Supreme Soul (Paramatma). He is the truly Imperishable Lord who enters and sustains all three worlds (the realm of Kshar Purush/Kaal, the realm of Akshar Purush, and His own realm of Param Akshar Brahm).

The Contradiction and the "Remote Control"

In Gita 18:62, Arjuna is told: "Go to the refuge of that God with your whole being. By His grace alone will you attain supreme peace and the eternal supreme abode." The giver of the Gita praises a God other than himself in numerous chapters (18:46, 61; 8:3, 8-10, 20-22).

However, in Chapter 10, Verses 40-42, he intimidates Arjuna through deception. He manages this entire system through lies and trickery, never revealing the truth to anyone. Readers may wonder: if Kaal Brahm lies, why believe the rest of the Gita?

  1. He speaks some spiritual truths to establish himself as an "Ocean of Knowledge" and build his glory.
  2. He knows the Vedas are studied; if he contradicts them entirely, his secret will be out.
  3. His "Remote Control" is in the hands of the Supreme God, who forced him to admit in Gita 11:32: "I am Kaal." The Almighty has revealed that he is a liar who claims to be the Doer of everything.

Wisdom from the Sukshm Ved

Saint Garibdas Ji, receiving knowledge from Supreme God Kabir, says:

"Jyot swarupi kah Niranjan, main hi karta bhai | Ek na karta do na karta, nau thehraye bhai | Daswan bhi dhundhar mein mil jaaga, Sat Kabir duhai ||"

Meaning: Kaal Brahm claims to be the creator in Gita 10:40-42. Mythology claims ten incarnations (Avatars) are the doers. Kabir Ji says that nine incarnations who were considered "doers" have died; the tenth will also be destroyed. Only Kabir is the Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of all.

Supreme God Kabir further states:

"Omkar nishchay bhaya, ya koo karta mat jaan | Saacha shabd Kabir ka, parde maahi pehchan ||"

Meaning: The mantra for worshipping Kaal Brahm is Om (Omkar)—this is a fact. However, do not consider Jyoti Niranjan (Kaal) to be the "Doer" (Creator). The true mantra for attaining God has been revealed by Kabir Ji. It has been kept secret; identify it by learning the hidden method from a Saint. He will reveal that the Master of all is someone other than Kaal Brahm.
